YOGA: A calm mind
Surely many of you will have heard about the benefits of the practice of Yoga, and normally we associate it with being less stressed, with less anxiety, ultimately more relaxed. In the practice of Yoga we take care of the body and the mind, and our body thanks us.
We could talk about the physical benefits of yoga: we release tensions, we generate endorphins, we sleep better, we are more agile, we improve our body posture, in short we feel healthier.
We could also talk about mental benefits. Thanks to the practice of Yoga we can transform a state of dispersion, a state of balance and internal concentration. The state of dispersion in which we usually live is usually the origin of many of our problems and our difficulties in living in Peace.
The practice of Yoga helps us to restore our natural rhythm to our mind, to not go so fast and to have a calm mind among others.
In a Yoga class our mind will access states of greater depth to which it is usually accustomed in day to day, and an awareness of the present moment.
Through physical practices (Asanas) that help us release tension, combined with respiratory work that helps us deepen the mental and energetic aspects of the practice.
Both aspects, physical and mental, are related. To the extent that I release tensions from the body, my mind calms down, and to the extent that my mind is calmer, the bodily tensions are released.
It would continue with a relaxation, accompanied by the healing sound of the Gong, ending with a small meditation, ending the session with a state of greater mental calm and more released from our accumulated tensions.
